Ducks at Canvey

Ducks at Canvey

A flock of Pochard ducks landing on the lake at the RSPB Canvey West Marsh reserve with a Shoveler duck on the bank. It was very cold and windy on this day, but it was great to see the ducks around the lake. there were several different flocks there.

Carrion Crow

Carrion Crow

This Crow just popped up in front of me while I was at the RSPB Canvey Island West Marshes reserve. Luckily he stayed around long enough for me to photograph him.

Robin Feeding

Robin feeding on the ground

Well it is nearly December, so here is a photo of the Robin from our garden. This Robin is very timid at the moment, so getting him to stand still long enough for a photo is challenging 🙂

Blue Tit doing a backflip

Blue Tit doing a backflip

Just for a bit of fun, this photo is by no means good technically, but I love the way it looks like the Blue Tit, has finished his lunch and is leaving the feeder by doing a back flip off the perch 🙂

Chaffinch on the feeder (2)

Chaffinch on the feeder (2)

This is the second photo from the series I took of the Chaffinch on our kernel feeder. I liked this one as it is not one I often get in focus as the bird is in and out of the feeder so quickly.

Chaffinch on the feeder

I love watching the Chaffinches feeding, often they cannot seem to sit quietly on the feeder, they constantly have to flap their wings to maintain balance.
