A flock of Pochard ducks landing on the lake at the RSPB Canvey West Marsh reserve with a Shoveler duck on the bank. It was very cold and windy on this day, but it was great to see the ducks around the lake. there were several different flocks there.
Something more ‘Arty’ tonight. A Carrion Crow hovering among the top branches of some bushes. Taken at the RSPB reserve at Canvey West Marshes.
This weekend saw a family of Pied wagtails come and entertain us with their skittish dancing.
This Crow just popped up in front of me while I was at the RSPB Canvey Island West Marshes reserve. Luckily he stayed around long enough for me to photograph him.
It was great seeing the Blackbird back in the garden again. I have missed him.
A Chaffinch standing on a tree stump looking at the camera with a sunflower kernel in it’s beak.
Well it is nearly December, so here is a photo of the Robin from our garden. This Robin is very timid at the moment, so getting him to stand still long enough for a photo is challenging 🙂
Just for a bit of fun, this photo is by no means good technically, but I love the way it looks like the Blue Tit, has finished his lunch and is leaving the feeder by doing a back flip off the perch 🙂
This is the second photo from the series I took of the Chaffinch on our kernel feeder. I liked this one as it is not one I often get in focus as the bird is in and out of the feeder so quickly.
I love watching the Chaffinches feeding, often they cannot seem to sit quietly on the feeder, they constantly have to flap their wings to maintain balance.
Another photo from Hullbridge riverside. These three Mallard ducks were patrolling the river side looking for food.
Another photo from our walk along the river at Hulbridge. Gulls feeding in the river.
A Mute Swan and a Little Egret on the river bank at Hullbridge, Essex.
We had a great time walking along the riverbank at Hullbridge this weekend. I took several photos of the bird life there and will post some of them over the next few days.
