Loads of Rooks around this weekend enjoying the stiff winds. Here is a photo of one of them against a grey and overcast sky. Took lots of photos but this was the only one that came near to what I wanted
It has been a while since the Greenfinch has been seen in our garden. It came to the feeder several times today.
Crows seem quite difficult to photograph as they are so black that detail is hard to get. Quite please with this photo. Still a lot of room for improvement though!
This Dunnock came up into the hedge beside me today and just started singing away.
On my lunchtime walk today, I saw this lovely Grey Wagtail feeding in the local brook.
A lovely shot of one of the Goldfinches sitting in the apple tree, highlighted by the winter sunshine.
This photo instantly made me think of the song “Show me the way home”. This was another photo from my morning at the RSPB reserve at Rainham marshes.
A ‘shot’ I saw at Rainham marshes last weekend. It just tickled my sense of humour.
I had a great morning out at the RSPB reserve at Rainham Marshes. This is the first time I have visited there and was really impressed. The weather was lousy for photography with it being misty and grey, but I did get some photos. I watched a Kestrel hunting and watched for his favourite spots. One spot was right by a footpath, so I walked to near that spot and waited and was rewarded with a great display of him flying and hunting quite close to me. Not the best photos, but I am quite pleased with them considering the circumstances.
I took this last weekend at Beuchamps Roding. This little sparrow was sitting on a hedge all fluffed up against the cold.
At last, some sunshine this morning, before the rain came in. This Chaffinch was in the Apple tree waiting his turn to feed.
