The first Green Woodpecker that I have got a half decent photo of. One of a family of 4 woodpeckers feeding on a school playing field. I could not get close as there was no cover around, so this is from about 200′ away using a long lens.
A lovely sunset yesterday, The sky went from dark blue to a deep red glow. It was fantastic.
Blenheim displaying at the Battle of Britain Airshow, Duxford 2015.
Greenfinches and a goldfinch arguing over the feeder.
I really do like this aircraft, it is so good to watch and a real triumph in design. Normal landings, rather than the hover type landings, do look fun though with those engines having to be tilted upwards slightly so that the large propellers don’t hit the ground.
As it is getting closer to winter, here is our Robin standing on the fence post beneath our Apple tree.
The Army’s Wildcat Helicopter at RIAT 2017.
Another one from the garden, a Goldfinch checking out the available food.
This BAE Hawk was part of the Finnish Airforce’s display team, the Midnight Hawks, as seen at RIAT 2017.
A Collard Dove sitting in our garden enjoying the late sun.
Here is one from the archives that I have re-edited to improve the colouring. A Hurricane and Spitfire of the BBMF at RIAT 2016.
Busy time at the feeders. Goldfinches lining up for the feeders in yesterday’s sunshine.
Another Chaffinch photo. This one had just quickly flown to the feeder, grabbed a Sunflower kernel and flew back to the tree to eat the kernel. It was too busy at the feeder for it to feel happy 🙂
This Flying Fortress flew really low over us at the camp site at RIAT this year. The cloudbase was very low.
I saw this lovely Chaffinch in the garden a couple of days ago feeding from the stump. It is starting to get more difficult now to get good photos as the light is worse and the windows give more reflection.
