Phantom FG1 re-paint

For my practice work today, I tried to look into how easy it is to ‘repaint an aircraft in a photo’. Answer…. quite hard. I repainted this aircraft to match a picture in a book of the Phantom FG1 XV585 of No. 43 Squadron. The problem was, the photo I had was a later version, so not only did I have to repaint it, but I had to shorten the nose.

Still, not perfect, but I am very happy for a first attempt. This idea has a future in my artwork. The original photo is below.

I will keep playing with this idea and will post the final version later when completed.
