Race to Dunkirk

This week’s piece of aviation art is called ‘Race to Dunkirk’. With the German Army sweeping through France, the British forces rushed to Dunkirk, harassed by JU87 Stukas.

This has got to be one of the most complicated composites I have done so far with practically every item seen is an individual layer on the composite. new techniques include two types of perspective in the same picture and the use of depth mapping to get a realistic blur as things move into the distance.

Overall I am very happy with the way it turned out.
