Algie wants to learn to fly, so an instructor has flown in from Brookfields Flying school in an Avro 504 to take him up for his first flying lesson. Mother is not happy!
The aircraft shown is a replica from the Brooklands museum in Surrey The Avro 504 first flew in 1913 and was used extensively for training in civilian schools as well as with the Royal flying Corps and the Royal navel Air Service. For a short while it was used as a frontline fighter. After the war many were sold off to civilians and flying schools.
This piece of art does not represent any actual event, it is just based on a idea I had in my head.
