Mirage on Desert Storm patrol.
French Mirage jets supported the Desert Storm campaign by flying combat patrols supporting US spy planes etc.
These patrols could last up to 4 hours necessitating 2 to 3 air to air refuellings with American tankers.
This piece shows a pair of Mirage jets on patrol over the desert with the oil wells on fire below them with one of them refuelling from an American KC-135R Stratotanker.
This piece of art does not represent any actual event, it is just based on a idea I had in my head.
