A different visitor to the feeders today. He was very hungry and took quite a bit of shoo-ing away before he got the message! (after I took the photos of course 😀📷😎)
With the evening coming up fast and the cold, wet and windy weather we have had today, the local bird population are desperately trying to top up their energy levels to last the night, especially as many of them have young to feed as well. There is regularly a half a dozen birds either feeding or waiting to get on the feeder this evening.
With this cold snowy weather, I am still processing the photos from last weekend as that was the last time I was able to just sit down and watch the birds. Here is another action shot of a Goldfinch coming in to land on the feeder.
It has been a busy morning on the feeders. As soon as one leaves, the next bird is waiting to take it’s place. Sometimes they don’t wait that long before making it known it is their turn. 🙂
Greenfinches and a goldfinch arguing over the feeder.
Just for a bit of fun, this photo is by no means good technically, but I love the way it looks like the Blue Tit, has finished his lunch and is leaving the feeder by doing a back flip off the perch 🙂
This is the second photo from the series I took of the Chaffinch on our kernel feeder. I liked this one as it is not one I often get in focus as the bird is in and out of the feeder so quickly.
I love watching the Chaffinches feeding, often they cannot seem to sit quietly on the feeder, they constantly have to flap their wings to maintain balance.
