A busy time in the garden at this time of the year with the bird feeders. Here is a Greenfinch coming in for some food.
Two young Greefinches sitting in the apple tree.
With the evening coming up fast and the cold, wet and windy weather we have had today, the local bird population are desperately trying to top up their energy levels to last the night, especially as many of them have young to feed as well. There is regularly a half a dozen birds either feeding or waiting to get on the feeder this evening.
Sitting at the dining table yesterday, enjoying a cup of tea, and this Greenfinch was just sitting on the perch outside posing, waiting for me to take his photo :-).
See, they can play nicely when they want! This photo shows the 3 main types of birds we get on the kernels feeder. The one that is missing is the Blue Tit.

We have a family of 3 Greenfinches visiting the garden at the moment. This is the most for several years.
