A VERY wet day at Duxford yesterday. Such a shame as there was a lot going on. After 3 hours in the rain, we gave up and came home, but the airshow continued for another 2 and a half hours! Well done to everyone who stayed on and the pilots for flying in the rain! As you can see from the photos, very grey skies.
Here are some photos from the BBMF displays over the 3 days of the Royal International Tattoo 2018 (RIAT 2018). The Trenchard and the Trenchard+ displays are probably the best display that the BBMF have ever put on! They really do bring a lump to the throat when they all fly past in formation.
Another photo from Duxford. This is another Hurricane, a Mk1 P3700 with the squadron code of RF-E. Personally although I love Spitfires, my first love is definitely the Hurricane.
A great shot of the Mk 1 Hurricane P2902 at Duxford. This is a really nice looking machine, so I processed the shot so that it looked as though it was in a dark hangar with the sunlight lighting her up.
Here is one from the archives that I have re-edited to improve the colouring. A Hurricane and Spitfire of the BBMF at RIAT 2016.
Another great memory from RIAT this year. A display by the BBMF with the Lancaster, 3 Spitfires and the Hurricane. Lets hope next year is better for them with less mechanical problems.
