Messy Eater!

A young Starling eating some suet, and making a mess 🙂 I put some suet in a hole in this trunk for the blue Tits, but the Starlings are the ones who get there first.

Young Starling calling for food

Very noisy day in the garden today, The flock of Starlings brought their young into the garden for feeding and stayed all day. What with the large flock of Sparrows and their young doing the same, it was extremely noisy!

Starling ‘sifting’ the seed

Starling

Starlings have a habit of sifting the seed by putting their closed beak into the seed and then opening their beak with a snap to move the seed around.
