Just paying around. This composite of 5 photos and some brushwork, textures etc just seem to come about. I started off with the car (taken on an old instamtic) and had the story in my mind of a WW2 pilot showing off his new car to his girlfriend. It just grew from there. 🙂
Today’s piece of milltary art, I call this one ‘Convoy’. I was trying to give the impression of an old WW2 photo of an American tank convoy on small English country roads, being buzzed by a pair of Spitfires in a playful mood.
The vehicles and aircraft were photographed at many different airshows and the tanks are a 1:72 Airfix model of A Sherman Tank that I have photographed and then ‘weathered’ in the painting.
This aircraft was seen at this years East Kirkby Airshow, the Auster AOP6, TW536
I wanted to show it in it’s native enviroment. This is the final version (so far). I wanted to show the aircraft in action spotting for the British artillary who were firing aginst some German tanks in the second world war.
This was my first version without painting in the action elements. Good but does not show it in action.
